We checked out the Max Brenner location in Hiroo, in suburban Tokyo - it's very easy to access the store, it's basically just across the street from the Hiroo Subway station on the Hibiya (grey) line.
I know my love of chocolate is huge, but I also know my limits when it comes to a sugar overload - so my husband and I decided to split the Classic European chocolate fondue set. You get three different types of melty, delicious chocolate (we had regular milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and what tasted like a caramel/chocolate fusion!) as well as dishes of fresh strawberries and banana, cookies, marshmallows and brownie pieces to dip into the chocolate. The fondue set even comes with a little burner, so that you can toast your marshmallows before dipping them!
It might not look like a ton of food based on the pictures, but I can assure you that the richness of the chocolate and the sweetness of everything meant that my husband and I both felt like we'd had plenty!
Max Brenner offers a bunch of different menu items to satisfy just about any chocolate craving - from chocolate pizzas (yes, that's a real thing!), to sundaes, waffles and crepes, and some of the most amazing varieties of hot chocolates I've seen. There were also milkshakes on their menu that looked incredible - definitely one that I'll be back for, I think!
The current Japan locations for Max Brenner stores are in Tokyo at Hiroo, Omotesando Hills and Solamachi, as well as one store in Osaka and one store in Urayasu. Definitely worth a look if you have a sweet tooth like me!
