Kids Plaza is a large indoor space for children near the centre of Osaka city. It has areas to play, explore and learn, and is a great day out for you and your family.
According to the founders of Kids Plaza, `Kids Plaza Osaka is the first museum in Japan dedicated to child education. Founded in July 1997, our basic philosophy is that children learn while playing and having fun nourishes creativity and awakes new potentials to personal development. Kids Plaza Osaka is always ready to provide kids with amusing facilities and new surprises and thrills every time they visit. Since our opening, more than 400,000 guests from every region in Japan (mainly from Kinki region's 6 prefectures) visit annually.`
*What can we do there?
Kids Plaza is divided into 4 floors (1F - welcome floor, 3F - creativity floor, 4F - adventure floor, 5F - discovery floor)
Here you will buy a ticket, be greeted, and enter the building. There is a large ball/track display on the wall.

From the first floor, take the elevator to the fifth floor where you can begin playing (exit on the third floor).
On this floor kids can make/create things, as well as try out large digital touch screens.

This large space has a playground for babies, a large adventure playground for older kids, Kids Street (where kids can dress up and play the role of different workers, and a kitchen for cooking classes.

This floor has space for workshops and exhibitions to learn about science, society, culture and much more.

*Where is Kids Plaza?
The address is 2-1-7, Ogimachi, Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan
The closest train station is Ogimachi (on the Sakaisuji line) close to exit #2, but is also accessible from Tenjinbashi-suji-6-chome station, and Tenma station.

If you drive there, parking is available under the building (it costs 150yen per 30mins) with space for about 160 cars.
*How much is entry to Kids Plaza?
1,400yen for adults, 800yen for elementary school aged children (and older), 500yen for 3 year olds (and older), and free for kids under 3. Seniors (65+ years old) are 700yen.
Annual Passport | Adult: 8,700yen
Elementary and junior high school students: 4,700yen
Pre-schoolers (3 years or older): 2,700yen
6-month Passport | Adult: 4,700yen
Elementary and junior high school students: 2,700yen
Pre-schoolers (3 years or older): 1,700yen
*When is Kids Plaza open?
The daily schedule is 9:30-17:00 (the last admittance is 45 minutes before closing).
You may re-enter the facility from the 3F during the same day. Please present your original ticket.

*When is Kids Plaza closed?
The second and thrid Monday of each month.
The fourth Monday in August.
New Year holidays: 12/28-1/2 (if a Monday is a national holiday, then the next day)
... and in addition, the museum will be occasionally closed in April, September and December.

*Are there facilities for families with babies?
There are lots of facilities for mums, kids and babies including nursing rooms (4F), toilets, changing tables, stroller-hire (1F) and tables where you can eat lunch (4F - lunch is byo).
*Can babies play too?
Kids Plaza is especially great for kindergarten and elementary school aged kids, but if you have crawlers or toddlers, there is play space available for them too. You have to remove your shoes to enter this area (and it is limited to 0-6 year olds and their parents).
*Are lockers available?
Coin lockers accept 500 yen coin refundable deposit. Lockers can be found next to the Information counter on the 1st floor, next to the staircase on the 3rd floor and next to the Peek-A-Boo section on the 4th floor.
*What if my child is injured?
All exhibits are designed with children in mind, and are very safe, but please keep and eye on your child at all times.
If first aid is needed, please apply to the office on the 4th floor. An AED unit is located next to the multipurpose room on the 4th floor.
*Is there a shop?
A museum shop can be found next to the exit on the 3rd floor.You can buy toys, games and gifts here, including original goods from Kids Plaza Osaka. Opening hours: from 10:00 till closing
*Any tips?
The first time I visited Kids Plaza, around 1200 school kids were there at the same time. Most of them left by 1:30 or 2:00pm, so if you are worried about this (school trips on weekdays), then perhaps go after lunch!
