Farmers Market - Taiyou No Marche

This farmers market is called Taiyou No Marche (Market of the Sun) and they are held on the second weekend of every month. It is located next to a children's park which is a great place if you come with your family, and it is just a short 15 min walk from Tsukiji Market.
We decided to visit this market after we finish exploring Tsukiji Market (we left Tsukiji because I couldn't fit any more food in my tummy lol), we walk along Sumida river and crossed one of the bridge, it was very cold on a winter morning but comes with a great view of Tokyo city.
Sorry it's a bit blurry

After crossing the bridge we arrived at Kachidoki residential area, very quiet and very different compare to the ever-so-busy Tsukiji. I believe it was the second right turn after the bridge, and keep walking straight pass a kindergarten and children's park, the market is next to the park. Very easy to find!

Here you can find all sorts of fresh vegetables and fruits, how I wish I live here! It is so hard to find fresh vegetables in Indonesia, and the organics one are usually very expensive
And although most of the seller doesn't speak English at all, they still welcome us with a big smile and offer us to try their product. I really wish I could buy the veggies, they look so good! Oh, and most of them are farmers so you can imagine how fresh the products are!
So fresh!

And if you are hungry, there are a lot of food trucks selling all kinds of food right next to the market. They also provide seating area so you don't need to worry about eating while standing while holding your shopping bags lol. We didn't try any of the food though because we just came from Tsukiji, I ate so much there!
The food trucks selections are quite international, I saw Indian food truck, pizza, tacos, spagetthi, and of course Japanese food as well. Not sure if it's the same food trucks every month but there are a lot of them, so you should be able to find something here.

Taiyou No Marche is consider one of the biggest farmers market in Tokyo, you can find all sorts of things here such as freshly toasted sesame seeds and sesame oil (smell sooo good! I regret not buying them), Fresh fruits and veggies, Japanese tea, dried fruits, Arts and Crafts, and there are activities booth as well so children can learn about farming.
Overall it was a really good experience, we really enjoy it and all the farmers are very very lovely people! Definitely a Saturday morning well spent :)
