Visiting the Hello! Project shop in Akihabara

Hello! Project Shop - Akihabara

You have probably reached this page either by chance or you must be a Hello! Project fan just like me. Either way I’d like to introduce you how to reach the Hello! Project store in Akihabara – the main Hello! Project store in Japan. A store worth checking out if Japanese pop is one of your great interests.
What is Hello! Project
For those of you not knowing Hello! Project, let me quickly introduces this amazing concept.
Hello! Project (ハロー!プロジェクト) is the name of all female Japanese idol groups that are under contract with the UP-FRONT group. Hello! Project has been created in 1998 by the main producer Tsunku san and has great popularity all over Japan. The main group of Hello! Project, called Morning Musume, active since 1998 and continuously changing line-up (the longest surviving group all over the world to do so) is famous all over Japan. Other groups of the company are: C-ute, Angerme, Juice=Juice, Country Girls, Kobushi factory and Magnolia factory.
How to find the store
The shop can be reached by a 10 minute walk from Akihabara Station. Take the ‘Akihabara Electric Town’ exit and walk towards the crossing with the main street: Chuo Dori. At the Chuo Dori intersection you will see the big red Sega building on the other side of the road to your right. If that is the case, turn right and follow the main street of Chuo Dori. Keep on following the Chuo Dori for a few minutes to the intersection of the Kuramae-hashi dori. This intersection is where the Hello! Project store is located. Look for a white building on the left side of the road and you will find a picture of the Hello! Project store on the windows of the 6th floor of the building.  Take the stairs or the elevator towards the 6th floor and enter the Hello! Project Shop.
Opening hours: Weekdays from 12:00 to 8:00 and on weekends from 10:00-8:00.
Address: 〒101-0021 東京都千代田区外神田 6-14-2 サカイ末広ビル6階
Once you enter the Hello! Project store, located on the 6th floor you will find yourself in a heaven for Hello! Project fans. With over 300 items affiliated with this female artist group with over 50+ member you will have plenty of choice. All goods sold in this place are original items produced by the company.
The walls are covered with all official pictures of the H!P (short for Hello! Project) members and plenty of goods are sold.
On one side of the shop you are even able to watch newly released DVDs of concerts on a big screen and a display is present, which changes its content occasionally, displaying outfits worn by the H!P members during their concerts.

It is okay to take photos of the shop in some areas. You can take pictures with of the displays, however pictures of the goods sold are prohibited for obvious reasons of copying the content.
I hope this guide will help you to visit the Hello! Project shop when you are in Akihabara. I strongly suggest you visit this shop if you are into Hello! Project, but I also encourage you to visit this shop even though you might have never heard of the group before. You will get a better understanding of the Japanese pop culture and everything that is included with it. And who knows, we might welcome you soon to the great fandom of Hello! Project!
