Tetsujin 28-go, attraction at Kobe city...

Japan is one of the countries that famous with cartoon which they call anime. There were a lot of anime aired at Japan since 70s until today. There were also many type of the anime; mecha is one the type. Mecha refer to the giant robot that fights against villain among human or alien from another planet in anime. Most of this robot were had a pilot to control it but some robot already have artificial intelligence to control itself.

Tokyo; especially at Odaiba are famous with giant 1/1 scale Gundam statue (until this article write, the statue already remove but will be replace with new Gundam statue). Kobe also famous with another giant 1/1 scale of statue which calls Tetsujin 28-go. 

Tetsujin 28-go was starting since 1956 as manga written and illustrated by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. The first anime series were released on 1963.

The 18 metre high of statue were built at Kobe as a tribute for Mitsuteru Yokoyama who were born at that city. The statue also built after 1995 Kobe great earthquake as a part of an expansive project to rejuvenate the area.

Tourist can come to visit this statue and take a photo here. They can take JR train by using Sanyo Main Line from Osaka and stop at JR Shin-Nagata station or by using Kobe Municipal Subway (Kaigan Line) and stop at Shin-Nagata station.

After arrived at upper floor, the tourist can see a map that show the direction to go the statue. There are also a footstep show direction to the statue.

The statue maybe not big as Gundam statue at Odaiba but it was one of the icon for Japan as a pioneer of the giant robot cartoon, standing to save Japan and the world.
