About this sight

Constructed in 1936, Japan’s parliament building is divided into left and right wings, where Diet sessions of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, respectively, take place. Statues of Hirobumi Ito, Shigenobu Okuma, and Daisuke Itagakai—founding members of Japan’s first modern constitution—can be seen here.
