About this sight

Dangyo Falls is located upstream on the Nagu river, and consists of two warterfalls: Osudaki (Male Waterfall) and Mesudaki (Female Waterfall). The Dangyo Shrine is located on the upper stream, with the 50m Osudaki on its right, and the 40m Mesudaki on its left, and you can go around the Osudaki to catch a better view from the falls from behind. From the parking lot you can walk through torii gateways to the shrine, with cedar trees enveloping the walkway and creating a peaceful presence. The water from the Dangyo Falls is also used as the “Water of Victory” at the annual bullfight at the Dangyo Shrine. It is also one of the top 100 waterfalls in Japan.
