About this sight

Named after its resemblance to a "Sazae" (turban shell), Sazaedo is a Buddhist temple with a double helix structure, meaning that visitors go up using a clock-wise corridor and go down by a separate anticlockwise corridor, thus ascending and descending visitors never passing each other.
