About this sight

Kokubun-ji Temple, located in Kochi Prefecture, is the twenty-ninth temple of the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage. It was constructed under the imperial decree of the 45th Emperor of Japan, Shomu-tenno. It was established in 741 by the high priest Gyoki, and restored under Kukai.
The beauty of all four seasons can be witnessed in the garden within the temple: cherry blossom trees in spring, hydrangeas in summer and Hagia Japanese bush clovers in autumn. Once you arrive at the Kokubun-ji temple, and are surrounded by the beautiful scenery, the spiritual atmosphere will definitely ease your mind.
