About this sight

Located about 10 minutes east of the Izumo Grand Shrine is Inasanohama, a beach said to welcome all the deities on their way to Grand Shrine. To this day, the welcoming ritual continues, and this shrine has become a power spot for worshipers. This beach is also mentioned Japanese mythology, particularly known in the transfer of the lands.

An island called Bentenjima is located by Isanohama Beach, and on the island you will see a torii gateway, where the Toyotamahikomikoto god is enshrined. During summer, this area turns into a water park for all to enjoy; however in winter, you will feel the raging waves of the Japan Sea.
