Mount Kaimon
Mount Kaimon, also called Kaimondake in Japanese, is a volcanic mountain located in the Ibusuki volcanic region.
At this sand bath onsen in Ibusuki, Kagoshima Prefecture, visitors can pay for different types of plans to enjoy hot springs. There are various price plans that allow for visitors to only enter certain sections of the facility with a more expensive plan to enter all of the onsen. With this option however, visitors can only enter the sand bath onsen once per ticket. It is also recommended to only enter the sand bath every 4-5 hours due to the health effects that they may cause. Each session should only last around 10minutes as the pressure and heat from the sand can leave customers feeling dehydrated. Please be careful! There are also indoor hot springs available as well if customers don’t want to enter the sand bath.
