About this sight

Located in Sakata, this museum is devoted to Ken Domon, one of Japan’s most important 20th-century photographers. The museum was the first photography museum to open in Japan and also the first to focus only on one photographer. Designed by Yoshio Taniguchi and opened in 1983, the facility exhibits over 70,000 pictures.
