About this sight

Designed by American architect Kendrick Kellogg, this church was built in commemoration of Uchimura Kanzo, a Japanese author, Christian evangelist, and founder of the Nonchurch Movement of Christianity in Japan during the Meiji and Taisho period. It is a popular spot for couples to get married. A memorial hall for Uchimura Kanzo is located beneath the chapel. Free tours of the church are available throughout the day.
