Shindachijuku Wisteria Garden
About this sight
An 8-minute walk from Izumi Sunagawa Station in the town of Sennan, this wisteria garden can be found inside the former home of a resident, Masahiro Kajimoto. Over 30 years ago, Mr. Kajimoto planted numerous varieties of wisteria and opened his home every spring since 1998. Over time, this habit turned into a local wisteria festival. After his passing, locals helped preserve the garden, allowing the public to continue enjoying the festival. It is held each year at the end of April.
