About this sight

Known as the Temple of Flowers, this temple attracts visitors with its azaleas blooming around April and May, as well as hydrangeas blooming in July and August. The current structure was built 180 years ago and is a holy site for Shugendo, a religion that blends components of Buddhism and Japan's local Shintoism. Mimuroto-ji is also the tenth temple of the Saikoku Kanon Pilgrimage.
