About this sight

This traditional shop sells a wide selection of sweets from Edo-period Japan. The name zenzaimochi means a 'sweet where the spirit dwells', which originated from the festival known as the Kamiarisai held at Izumo Shrine, one of Japan's most important Shinto sites. Today, this snack is available year-round. This shop has a sit-down area where visitors can order a sweet red-bean soup with the mochi inside. They also have take-out options.
