About this sight

Originally built in 1543, the Toyama Castle grounds have been converted into a public park with free access. The castle was destroyed and rebuilt four times between the Sengoku Warring States Period (1467-1603) and its current form. It now houses the Toyama Local History Museum and the Sato Memorial Museum, known for its collection of tea ceremony tools and antiques. Both museums charge a small admission fee. The castle is located a 15-minute walk from Toyama Station. Visitors may also take a 30-minute boat ride here, with explanations in Japanese.
