About this sight

Designed by Hiroshi Hara, this skyscraper -- also known as New Umeda City -- was completed in 1993. The 173-meter tall building consists of two towers, which are connected by a bridge on the 39th floor. The bridge features an observation platform whose donut-shaped roof provides an unobstructed 360-degree view. This "Floating Garden Observatory" boasts a view from Osaka City to as far as Awaji Island. Aside from the Takimi-koji restaurant mall, a replica of an old gourmet street with images of Osaka from the 1920's, most of the building is occupied by offices.
