About this sight

Originally founded in 724 close to the Arima Onsen Hot Spring Town, the original temple was burned down in 1576. Over a decade later, in 1590, the Yakushi-do Hall was completed. It is said to be the location of a large tea ceremony held by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Visitors can still see the original hall, which is a designated cultural property.
