About this sight

Located in the port town of Uwajima, this Japanese garden was created in 1866. Featuring a large pond in its center, visitors can take a stroll around it to enjoy views of bridges, trees, bamboo and flowers. Although well known for its wisteria and iris, the garden offers a variety of flowers that are in bloom all year round. Tensha-en Garden was constructed as a retreat for Munetada, the seventh lord of the Date clan.
