About this sight

Situated on the border of the prefectures Gifu and Nagano, this mountain stands at 3,026 meters. As one of the 21 Japanese mountains over 3,000 meters, it is the most southern peak of the Northern Japan Alps. Mount Norikura, or Norikura-dake in Japanese, is accessible by bus from Norikura Kogen from July through October or Hirayu from mid-May through October. Generally considered an easy mountain to hike, it boasts well-developed trails and roads.
