Naruto Whirlpools
Natural phenomenon in the Seito Inland Sea.
This 20-minute cruise takes visitors to see the Naruto whirlpools in Tokushima. They occur along the Shikoku coast of the Naruto Strait, and are created by water moving between the Seto Inland Sea and the Pacific Ocean between high and low tide. The whirlpools occur about every six hours between tides. Under the right conditions, visitors can observe whirlpools of up to 20 meters in diameters.
