About this sight

Best climbed from mid-May through November, this mountain's summit measures 3,032.5 meters in height. Mount Senjo, or Senjogatake in Japanese, in the northern part of the Southern Japan Alps spreads across the prefectures Nagano and Yamanashi and is accessed from the Kitazawa Pass in Hasekuroguchi, Yamanashi. Mount Senjo is number 18 on the list of Japan's 21 mountains over 3,000 meters. Several huts line the trails to the summit, which offer sleeping accommodation, but if hikers start early, a roundtrip can be done in a day.
