About Karuizawa

Karuizawa is a popular resort spot for people from Tokyo. Though famous as an escape in summer when the city is too hot, spring cherry blossoms, fall foliage, and winter sports make this a beautiful destination all year long. Karuizawa is just over an hour from central Tokyo by train. Visitors can shop at the large brand outlet mall, and for contrast browse and take in the historic old town area. Nature lovers will enjoy hiking and cycling through the foothills of Mount Asama.
